Our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign will be there on the frontlines to defend Ohioans against this attack.

Team: The latest attack by extremists on direct democracy — and the first fight ahead in 2023 — was just announced in Ohio.

Just moments ago, the Ohio Secretary of State held a press conference asking the Ohio state legislature to add a new measure to the ballot once the 2023 session begins — a measure that would require a 60% supermajority for all future ballot measures in the state to be passed.

Time is of the essence, team. In his announcement, Secretary LaRose asked the Ohio state legislature to make passing this disastrous measure a TOP priority once the session begins.

We need to make sure we have the resources to fight back against this attack via our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign. Whether we need to litigate or run a NO campaign to stop this measure, we need to be prepared. Will you rush a donation right away to fight back and defend Ohioans from this attack on the power of their vote?

We know we can do this, team. Our Ballot Measure Rescue Campaign helped us defeat Amendment C in South Dakota earlier this year — a measure that required the same supermajority threshold for any future measures.

There is too much at stake in Ohio to let this restrictive amendment pass. A 6-week abortion ban is indefinitely blocked in the state, and the rights of millions hang in the balance. To make it more difficult to pass voter-powered measures to protect abortion or any other protections Ohioans need is a direct attack on the power of our vote.

We cannot and will not stand by while extremists in Ohio try to suppress the power of direct democracy. Will you rush a donation now so that our BMRC has the necessary resources to fight back against this attack?
