Climate justice is debt justice

Hello friend,
While world leaders were in Egypt at the COP27 climate conference, millions of us marched for climate justice last weekend.

The need for action has never been so great. From floods in Pakistan destroying millions of homes, to droughts causing food and water shortages worldwide, more than ever before we’re seeing the human impact of the climate crisis.

That’s why we marched, from Egypt to Edinburgh, thousands of us came together to demand action.

There are a few days left for world leaders to come to an agreement. But what can we expect from COP27? What would a good outcome look like? Why do we need debt justice to achieve climate justice? In case you missed it, watch our webinar for answers ([link removed]) .

Our Executive Director, Heidi Chow and our Senior Policy Researcher, Tess Woolfenden (in the video above) are currently in Egypt keeping ahead of the developments at the COP27. We'll give you a complete update when they are back, next week.

Until then, let's keep demanding for action and supporting calls from the global south to cancel debt for climate justice!

In solidarity,

Zak
