With Arizona
calling BS
on Kari Lake, I wanted to
zoom out and take a quick look at what we’ve accomplished together
this year so far.
We identified 22 races in 2022 that
were critical to the survival of our democracy. Existential races. And
we were laser-focused on five states: Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan,
Nevada, and Pennsylvania. It was our mantra. Fight where we can —
including targeted campaigns elsewhere (like Ohio and Florida) to
force our opponents to respond — and make the maximum
impact.
Of the 22, the pro-democracy coalition has won 16 of them.
We’ll dive more into all of
them but here are a few of the biggest ones:
- Wisconsin Governor
- Arizona
Governor
- Arizona
Senate
- Arizona
Secretary of State
- Michigan
Governor
- Michigan
Secretary of State
- Nevada
Senate
- Nevada
Secretary of State
- Pennsylvania Governor
- Pennsylvania Senate
One more huge race looms in
Georgia. More on that soon. And of course, the biggest battle, if you
believe reports yet out of Mar-a-Lago, will likely start again
tonight.
Our work - with your support both
financially and over at The Union volunteering - has evened the
playing field for democracy. Election deniers lost resoundingly on
Election Night thanks to you.
That means in 2024, Trump’s going
to have to win by getting more votes. Not by having a governor or
secretary of state hand him the race. He’s got hundreds of millions
in his campaign coffers ready to go. And the vast majority of the GOP
base — no matter what you hear from the talking heads — are ready to
go for him again.
This
is going to be a battle, folks. No doubt about it. We’re in one right
now in Georgia. And the bigger fight is just around the corner. Help
us make sure we’re ready. >>
But after what we saw last week?
I’d rather be us than them. (Not to mention the “us” is the strongest
pro-democracy coalition on planet.)
Thank you for all that you do for
democracy.
