Midterm Election Day 2022 was a lot of things. We were overjoyed to see
Alexandria elected to her third term, and while not every other race went
the way we’d hoped, Tuesday was an undeniably strong showing for the
progressive movement across the country. But let’s zoom out for a second,
before you mentally switch out of election mode…

Team AOC is a campaign that does not live or die by election seasons.

What does that mean?

does, you can rush a donation right now!

But if you haven’t heard the ways Team AOC has NY-14’s back all year long,
read on…

Typically, a campaign is the engine that runs a politician’s bid for
elected office. And we certainly do plenty of work on the ground to ensure
Alexandria stays in office as long as she needs to. But we aren’t a
traditional campaign, and we know that’s part of why you’re here.

During the pandemic, we ran a food distribution program that lasted for
over a year. We organized a Census outreach program in 2020 that helped
New Yorkers keep a congressional seat during redistricting. We’ve run a
Homework Helpers program since 2020 that tutors students in our district.
Each August and September we give out thousands of backpacks to support
families going back to school. We host community forums in the district to
get direct feedback from constituents. And much more!

Our campaign lives in NY-14, working hard every day to soak up everything
we see and hear from constituents. A lot of campaigns function as machines
to generate votes every few years, going dormant when there isn’t a need
for fundraising or votes.

But in addition to all the programs we run locally, we like to think of
Team AOC as a permanent suggestion box that funnels the wants and needs of
district residents back to AOC’s office in Washington.

[ [link removed] ]Fundraising always sags after Election Day because people assume the
campaign is “over.” But our campaign sources direct feedback from the
district and funds crucial local programs all year long. Can you chip in
$3 today to help us maintain this important work?

We kicked butt organizing for this year’s midterms, and it’s a relief to
return to the district and continue to build out Team AOC’s influence
across NY-14 and the country. Let’s keep at it together!

Pa’lante,

Team AOC
