It’s clearer than ever, John. Americans support the right to abortion.

Voters across the country rejected anti-choice policies, electing politicians up and down the ballot committed to expanding reproductive freedom and supporting ballot initiatives to protect the right to abortion and contraception for every body.

When Roe v. Wade was overturned, reproductive freedom voters made a promise to anti-choice extremists and kept it: come for our rights, and we’ll come for your seats.

Pundits underestimated the power of our movement. They predicted a “red wave” but were met with a reproductive freedom wave driven by voters like you.

Our movement is powerful, and we’re proud of the reproductive freedom candidates who stood fearlessly in their values and fought vicious attacks from extremist MAGA opponents.

However, votes are still being counted in key states. The political landscape remains uncertain, and we can’t let up now. We need to build on this historic moment so we can be ready for any outcome. Pennsylvania Governor-elect Josh Shapiro, New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer were all successful because they never backed down on abortion access. They knew what we’ve always known: the majority of Americans support the legal right to abortion—and this election proved that more of that majority is activated to defend that fundamental right.

While we celebrate reproductive freedom leaders’ accomplishments at the ballot box, more than a dozen states have banned or severely restricted abortion. As more Republican-led states continue to ban abortion, it’s imperative that we continue to call out anti-choice Republicans, shine a light on anti-choice disinformation, and work to protect the freedom to vote to ensure that all reproductive freedom voters can make their voices heard at the ballot box.
