On Election Day, voters sent Republicans a message — hands off our earned Social Security and Medicare benefits!

The “red wave” predicted by political pundits never materialized. Instead, Americans elected Social Security champions, including Pennsylvania Senator-elect John Fetterman.

Now, we need to make sure voters finish the job. In Georgia’s Senate race, neither candidate reached 50 percent of the vote. That means that Democrat Raphael Warnock and Republican Herschel Walker will face off again in a runoff election on December 6th.

Georgia’s special election could determine control of the Senate. Raphael Warnock has a strong record of fighting to protect Social Security and lower drug prices. His opponent, Herschel Walker, refuses to take a public stance on Social Security — because he doesn’t want voters to know that he supports Republican plans to cut, privatize, and destroy our earned benefits.

Warnock and Walker are within 1% of each other with nearly all votes counted in their general election. The special election is expected to be just as close.
