Tuesday night’s victory was sweet. It was confirmation of the work we have done to keep Texas a leader in America, and an affirmation of our plans to keep Texas a beacon of freedom and liberty for the nation.




Texans expect us to prioritize public safety, good schools that teach reading, writing, and arithmetic, and steer clear of critical race theory and gender confusion. We want a healthy business climate that supports the pillars of our economy, like the oil and gas industry, and freedom from onerous regulations.

This fall I made over 130 stops on a campaign bus tour of rural Texas. I reminded rural Texans that they represent an electoral firewall in Texas against a few big blue counties. Rural Texans answered the call and turned out big and kept Texas free.




I also asked voters in the metropolitan urban and suburban areas of the state to stand their ground and fight back against the radical Democrats and their woke agenda. They stepped up to the plate and helped us increase our margins from 2018.

The Democrats once again tried turning Texas into California and voters responded with a resounding NO.




Thank you to all those who worked tirelessly for our campaign and Republicans up and down the ballot. Jan and I are grateful for your hard work and sacrifices.




The stakes were high and we worked hard. I know in my heart and secure in the words of Proverbs 21:31 – “the horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the Lord.”




Now, I will turn my focus to the work you have given us to do in Austin when the 88th Legislative Session convenes on January 10, 2023.
