Dear Friend,
Over the past ten or so months, my team and I have worked to flip SD 6. While we did not succeed this time around, I am immensely proud of the work we have done here, the relationships built across communities, and the values we fought to protect.
Thank you to all of our volunteers and committee people, who worked to turn out voters for Democrats up and down the ballot! Together we have increased turnout across the board and helped to win some hard-fought victories. After thousands of knocks, calls, texts, and postcards, our effort has made an impact on voting in Bucks County and by extension Pennsylvania.
I want to thank every individual & organization that put their faith and effort into supporting our efforts through their contributions and endorsements. The commitment to pro-democratic ideals takes work and requires moral courage. And those who supported our Democratic candidates up and down the ballot have our deep appreciation and respect. Especially those who worked on electing Democratic women, pro-choice, pro-GVP and pro-environmental candidates. You are invaluable in your commitment to making Harrisburg work for us all and future generations.
The silver lining in 2022. After 30 years, the Pennsylvania state legislature will have a Democratic majority! We flipped not one, not two, but possibly THREE house seats in Bucks County, two of which I had the pleasure to run with here in SD 6: Brian Munroe and Mark Moffa, who is currently in the lead in his race. With their victories, there is hope for the issues we care about, policies like abortion rights, public education funding, and our environment. And thank you to Laurie Smith and Ilya Breyman for running tremendous races against difficult odds.
At the statewide level, Josh Shapiro and John Fetterman won and will be incredible partners for our community and with a new majority in the state legislature. With these results and a possible majority in the U.S. Senate, there is a bright future ahead for Pennsylvanians.
Thank you again for your support, and I wish us all the best as we take a moment to rest, reflect on this result and celebrate our victories.
To those who worked hard and did not see victory in their local races - please remember politics is a team sport, and no one succeeds who does not try.
Warm regards,
Ann Marie
