John,

It's been my greatest honor to be Georgia’s Democratic nominee for Attorney General. Although this chapter has come to an end, the fight for a safer, more equitable Georgia continues.

My decision to run for Attorney General was never about me, but about serving and protecting the people of this state. It was about every woman who has suffered the loss of a child. It was about my 13-year-old daughter, and every little girl across Georgia who deserves to have the same rights as I have had my entire life. It was about keeping our communities safe, and ensuring our young people have the opportunity to grow old instead of falling victim to senseless acts of gun violence.

We may not have received the results we were hoping for last night, but the work is far from over. It is now more important than ever that we continue to support and elect leaders who will prioritize the health and safety of Georgia families. Leaders who will stand up for women and defend our right to make the most personal decisions about our own bodies. Leaders who will reject partisan political agendas and put people first.

I'm so proud of the race we ran, and our performance — being the top-vote getter among Georgia Democrats behind Senator Warnock — shows that the voices of the people we engaged and inspired aren't going anywhere. I'm also heartened by the strong performance around the country last night among candidates who put reproductive freedom front and center. It's clear that the fight to restore our rights has momentum and history on its side.

Over the past year and a half, I have met so many incredible people on the campaign trail who said I gave them hope. And as a girl from Dodge County who grew up poor with a single mother, I know firsthand the power of hope. I'm so grateful to my family, my team, and every single one of you who has supported me along this journey. May we never lose hope for a better tomorrow and a better Georgia.

Sincerely,

Jen Jordan
