Today, voters elected Maxwell Frost to Congress, the first Gen-Z champion in the House of Representatives to represent Florida’s 10th District. 🎉🥳

Maxwell Frost, March For Our Lives’ first National Organizing Director, proved that when we fight for our lives, we win. This is a soaring victory for the gun violence prevention movement and a marker of hope for the future — we elected a gun safety advocate and March for Our Lives alum into the Halls of Congress.

We’re elated to have a champion in our corner who will take bold action to end gun violence and we’re excited for the change we’ll start to see as Gen-Z claims more power.

Our most recent poll shows that young people want bold, comprehensive solutions to gun violence and that we support politicians who commit to policies like passing universal background checks, raising the age to buy a gun to 21 and banning assault weapons.

Maxwell did just that in both his primary and in the general election, and it paid off. This should be a warning sign to complacent politicians everywhere that their time is up. Young voters who make up the majority of the voting-eligible population are ready for fierce gun safety leaders and we’re ready to take action into our own hands.

This is just the beginning of a generational seachange, and we’re excited to usher it in.
