Friends,

Before the polls begin to close, I wanted to reach out and say thank you . Thank you for generously giving your support—your time, energy and resources—to the fantastic Democrats running for office across the country. I am so, so proud of this team.

I also wanted to share a few reminders and pieces of advice as midterm results begin coming in:

1.
We
will
not
have
a
full
accounting
of
election
results
tonight.
It
may
take
several
days
for
states
like
Alaska,
Nevada,
New
York
and
Pennsylvania
to
tally
all
their
votes
and
report
their
results.
In
Alaska,
the
state’s
new
ranked-choice
voting
system
takes
time
to
complete.
In
states
like
Nevada,
expanded
mail-in
voting
means
counting
ballots
can
take
several
days.
That’s
okay—in
fact,
ensuring
all
votes
are
counted
is
a
sign
of
a
healthy,
functioning
democracy.
2.
3.
Beware
the
red
and
blue
“mirage”.
In
Arizona,
for
example,
expect
early
results
in
the
state—which
account
for
mail-in
ballots—to
show
Democrats
with
a
large
margin.
That
will
shift
as
day-of
votes
are
tabulated.
Conversely,
vote
counts
out
of
Pennsylvania
early
in
the
night
will
likely
favor
Republicans,
because
same-day
votes
are
counted
first
in
the
state.
That
will
shift,
too,
as
early
and
mail-in
votes
are
counted
as
well.
You
can
take
a
deeper
look
at
what
to
expect
from
key
battleground
states

.
4.
5.
Facts
matter.
Election-deniers
and
MAGA
Republicans
may
take
advantage
of
protracted
vote-counts
to
spread
misinformation
about
results.
Make
sure
you’re
getting
your
election
news
from
reliable,
unbiased
sources.

I am so deeply grateful for your support and commitment to our shared values. I’ll check back in soon.

With love and gratitude,

Kirsten
