Dear John,

November 11th is Veterans Day.  It is a day in which we honor the great heroes who served our country in the United States Armed Forces.  These brave patriots protected our country from harm and provided safety and assurance to our allies.  And they served knowing that many have made, and will make, the ultimate sacrifice in performing these duties.   America owes our nation’s heroes so much for the often-dangerous work that they did.

I am proud to have two veterans serving on my Congressional staff who work tirelessly to make certain the needs of veterans in the 12th District are met by the Department of Veterans Affairs.   The experience and expertise of these staffers make them invaluable assets to me as I advocate on behalf of TX-12 veterans and our community as they interact daily with those that chose to serve.  I deeply appreciate their work in assisting countless veterans receive the aid and care they deserve.

As I continue to support veterans through Congressional legislation and casework, I also must applaud the non-profit organizations that serve our military personnel both at home and on the front lines.  These organizations help guide veterans from TX-12 and all around the country by providing important services such as financial assistance, job placement, and education, among many others.  Working alongside these groups, my team’s number one priority is to make sure veterans receive the benefits they have earned and so richly deserve.

I am so proud of, but never surprised by, the unparalleled generosity of the Fort Worth community.  Patriotism runs through our veins, and I am certain veterans in our community feel the love and support from those around them.  I promise that my dedication to their needs will never waiver.

We all know that every day should be a day to honor the brave servicemembers, who selflessly answered our nation’s call to put their lives on the line for the safety and security of the American people.

On this Veterans Day, please join me in saluting these courageous heroes and their families for their service and sacrifice.

May God bless our veterans and may God bless the United States of America.
