When I kicked off this campaign, I promised this team and North Carolina that we would work harder than we ever have to turn our state blue.

I don’t want any of us to wake up on November 9 with regrets. We need to know we gave it our all, made the best decisions possible with the information and resources at hand, and that we had nothing more we could have invested.

You may ask why I feel so strongly about this, and the truth is that my race for Chief Justice in 2020 was ultimately decided by 401 votes — out of over 5 million.

Yes, that’s just how close these races in North Carolina can be, but I sometimes wonder if there was more we could’ve done.

And now there’s a real chance that this Senate race comes down to a similar margin in November. Frankly, I can’t remember the last poll that didn’t show our campaign statistically tied.

So when the days feel long or the challenges feel steep, I think about those 401 votes. And I remind myself of the promise we made to work as hard as we possibly can. I will do everything I can today, right now, to make sure that we flip this seat.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has pitched in their time and talent already.

If you believe in our campaign, please consider splitting a donation today between my campaign and Kirsten Gillibrand to help us flip this seat. The Senate majority is on the line, and a few hundred votes in North Carolina could make all the difference.

This is going to be a tough race — one of the closest in the country. Every decision, every door knock and every dollar matters.

But together, I am confident that we will have the resources and grassroots strength it takes to win!

Thank you for your support,

Cheri
