Dear John,
It’s hard to imagine a time in recent memory when each of us had greater responsibility for the future of the Jewish people.
As we close out 2019, antisemitism is again raging on our city streets, hate and bigotry is resurfacing in our own backyards, and enemies continue to deny the very legitimacy of Israel as a nation.
As I said in my email below, we find ourselves at a defining moment. Our actions in this moment will come to define us. Now is the time to recognize that it’s up to each one of us to determine what happens next.
Your tax-deductible year-end gift to AJC makes a clear statement. It says that, like AJC, you are committed to shaping a world without antisemitism and hate, where Israel’s place within the community of nations is secure, and democratic rights for all people are protected.
Yes, this year we witnessed a resurgence of evil in our communities. But through AJC, we also achieved progress—and it was support from friends like you that made it possible.
This past year, AJC helped wake up the country to the ominous rise of antisemitism and mobilized our allies in government and civil society to fight it. We leveraged our unique access to global decision makers and offered concrete proposals to combat antisemitism.
We defended Israel by visiting scores of capitals, including in the Arab world, and bringing influential leaders to experience the Jewish state for themselves.
And we ramped up our efforts to weaken terrorist groups, like Hezbollah. We pressed nations to ban this Iranian proxy from raising funds and recruiting operatives on their soil, and AJC’s campaign is steadily gaining momentum.
From our nation’s capital to the halls of power across the globe, AJC’s work yielded real results that create a better future for all.
When the next generation looks back on this moment, they will know that AJC rose to the occasion. Were you there with us?
At midnight, the chance to have your gift matched will end and a new year will begin. Please donate—and have your gift doubled—before time runs out!
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2020,
David Harris
