You should hear this from me, John.

History tells us that Democrats should lose their majorities in Congress in the midterm after a Democrat is elected President. Furthermore, history tells us to expect Republicans to maintain their stranglehold on our state government.

But NEVER in history has a political party so quickly abandoned any principle or pretense thereof as the MAGA GOP has done.

NEVER in history has one party taken away Americans’ reproductive rights.

NEVER in history has one party worshiped someone the way that Republicans now worship Donald Trump.

NEVER in history have Americans laid siege to the U.S. Capitol. And not since the Civil War had any Americans tried — until January 6th, 2021.

So history may not be the best indicator of what we should expect this year. What we should expect — whether we win or lose — is that the results will directly correlate to the success of our effort to get out the vote.

It’s all going to come down to turnout.
