The New York Times reported today that right-wing billionaire Ronald Lauder is flooding the governor's race with money ([link removed]) in a craven attempt to elect Lee Zeldin.
Zeldin is running a campaign based on misinformation and fear: he's pledged to weaken gun control laws and make it easier to carry a dangerous weapon in the city. He's pledged to appoint an anti-abortion commissioner to the Department of Health. He voted to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and he wants to enact onerous voter ID laws that would make it harder to cast a ballot here in New York.
The worst part? Lauder and Zeldin's gambit might work. The polls are *way* too close for comfort, and CNN is warning that a "red wave could slam hard into deep-blue New York." ([link removed])
But we can stop this madness with your help.
Join us today at 3:00pm at L'Wren in Sunset Park to make calls and get out the vote for Kathy Hochul and Antonio Delgado, who have real plans to get guns off our streets, protect our freedoms and create affordable housing.
If you can't make it to the bar in person, you can also join us on Zoom; RSVP here ([link removed]) . And there are plenty more opportunities to get out the vote for candidates fighting Republicans and defending democracy:
* Sign up to GOTV on Election Day ([link removed]) in Southern Brooklyn with Assembly Member Mathylde Frontus.
* Help with voter outreach ([link removed]) in support of State Senate candidate Iwen Chu.
* Phonebank for Hochul and Delgado ([link removed]) any time between now and when the polls close.
This is no joke; MAGA Republicans could gain a foothold in this state, unless we fight back. We don't want to wake up the morning after Election Day wishing we'd done more.
We can't win this thing without you!
