Alexandria understands the importance of Tuesday’s election, and growing our progressive power up and down the ballot. So for the last few months, our movement has invested time, energy, and fundraising power to help candidates — like newcomer Summer Lee, and Squad members Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, and Jamaal Bowman — win their primaries. Not only that, Team AOC has invested organizing power across NYC for local candidates.
But while Alexandria was safe in her primary election, the reality is we have to take our MAGA, insurrectionist Republican challenger seriously in this Tuesday's general election.
We need to make sure we do everything we can to reelect Alexandria and keep our progressive power rooted in NY-14. That’s why we set a fundraising goal of $15,000 before Election Day, and why we’re emailing you now.
Last year, our Republican opponent raised $10 million against us. And the entire Republican establishment and their corporate allies put the full weight of their propaganda machine into spreading lies about Alexandria.
This year, Alexandria’s MAGA opponent is running an aggressive race. They hosted multiple $500-dollar-a-plate fundraising dinners around the country, set up a massive #OustAOC sign on a highway overpass in Queens, and are encouraging anti-vax, MAGA hecklers to harass constituents at events intended to be apolitical, civic functions.
We need to push back by continuing to forge real connections with the communities in The Bronx and Queens that support Alexandria’s message. And that’s why we’re counting on you now.
When we won the second most expensive House race in the country — that sent a signal to Democrats and Republicans. We were able to pass the biggest investment in climate change ever, student loan debt relief, and gun control. Now, with reproductive freedom and so much else on the line, we can’t afford to look weak.
