Dear allies,

There is an important election on Tuesday, November 8. We must create stronger communities by voicing our support for issues that matter to us. Mail-in voting and early voting has increased voter access significantly over the last couple of election cycles, and we thank you for utilitzing these tools to stand strongly in favor of Question 1 and 4. If you haven’t yet voted, we encourage you to vote YES on ballot questions 1 and 4 to create a fairer tax system that secures resources to invest in critical improvements to education and transportation across Massachusetts, and create safer roads by making sure all qualified drivers can obtain licenses, regardless of immigration status. Campaign Updates

Sign our petition urging Maura Healey to prioritize safety and a low-income fare at the MBTA
Candidate for Governor, Maura Healey, has already voiced her support for a low-income fare and a safer MBTA! Sign our petition urging her to ensure these priorities are reflected in her first budget as Governor.

We’re asking for Maura Healey to:

  • Fully fund a low-income fare for the MBTA, and
  • Designate all needed funding to ensure the MBTA is safe for workers and riders

To sign our petition to Maura Healey, visit Public Transit Public Good.

Recap: Fair Share for the MBTA rally
Last week, Rep. Adrian Madaro, Sen. Lydia Edwards, and transit riders, workers, and allies rallied at Faneuil Hall to say YES on question 1! As the crisis at the MBTA mounts ahead of the November elections, we took action to call for a better future for Massachusetts public transit with the passage of Question 1 on the November ballot.

Based on the findings of our new report, Fair Share for the MBTA, workers and riders showed up to affirm that passing Question 1 could pay for much-needed safety-related infrastructure and provide a stable funding source for the MBTA, making it safer and fairer for decades to come. If passed, Question 1 will create new funding for public education and transportation by requiring the rich to pay their fair share in taxes.
