Hey folks — I’ve been spending some time reflecting on the past few years, and if you have a moment today, I’d love to share some of my thoughts with you.
In 2019, my team and I launched this campaign with one goal in mind: to rise above the partisan bickering and actually get things done for a change.
When we launched that campaign, we knew we had a tough fight ahead of us. But we hoped that there were enough folks who, like us, were ready to bring fairness, equality and progress to NC-2’s leadership.
And there were. That year, this team did the impossible. We flipped this seat blue for the first time in a decade and helped secure Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress.
From that day on, I promised that I would work with anyone and everyone to get things done for North Carolinians — and I’m proud to say that’s exactly what we’ve accomplished.
We got right to work to address the COVID-19 pandemic and help make sure everyone got the relief they needed to make it through that challenging time.
Then, we passed bipartisan legislation to modernize our nation’s infrastructure. I’m so proud that this legislation included my amendment to create a national framework for electric vehicles and accelerate our path to a clean energy future.
And this year, we passed legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs, address rising costs, fight climate change, create good-paying jobs, and so much more.
Over the last two years, I’ve introduced more than 40 bills and amendments, and I’ve had nine pieces of legislation signed into law. As a member of Congress, I have fought hard battles and won, and it’s all been possible because I’ve had an incredible team of supporters just like you in my corner.
Whether you volunteered for the campaign, called your friends and family to make sure they voted, chipped in to support our work, or even just opened one of these emails, your support over the years has made this all possible.
As I’m sure you know, we still have a lot of work ahead of us — from restoring reproductive freedom for women across the nation to protecting our fundamental right to vote. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work, but first, we have a critical election to win in just four days.
So friends, I’m humbly asking for your support today to help us win this seat and save our Democratic House majority so we can continue our work for fairness, equality, and progress. Your support has made all the difference time and again.
