This is it. In just a few short hours, we’ll close the book on 2019.

But instead of slowing down, we at MapLight have been busy brainstorming plans to create a more equitable democracy in 2020. But we can’t do it without your help.

Will you join me in sending the message that our democracy is worth fighting for by donating $5 or more by midnight? ([link removed])

Here’s what we pledge to accomplish in 2020:
* Expand our critical work combating the manipulation of public opinion on social media with former Federal Election Commission chair Ann Ravel at the head of our innovative Digital Deception project.
* Expose—through our impactful investigative journalism—how the problems in our country stem from the same underlying source: a democracy that’s rigged to benefit the wealthiest interests in our society at the expense of everyone else.
* Serve 2020 voters with nonpartisan voter information via Voter’s Edge, helping more than 2 million California voters vote with confidence in the 2020 election—an event that will be one of the defining moments of our era.
* Support reform advocates across the country by providing data analyses and visualizations that show how money in politics drowns out the voice of the people, a key step in generating support for democracy reform in local communities.


Our democracy is under attack on multiple fronts. So if you want to fight for a more representative system of government, now’s the time to support our work.
