I was at a community event last night in The Bronx, and when I got home, I
was informed that I seem to have gotten under a certain billionaire’s
skin. 😂

I guess my Tweet made Elon Musk mad.

Because he tweeted…

I assume this was supposed to be some kind of “gotcha” moment?

But here’s the thing: unlike Elon Musk, we support union shops. All of our
merchandise is made in the USA by union workers. In fact, all the workers
on our campaign are unionized. They make a living wage, have full
healthcare and other benefits like childcare stipends, and aren’t subject
to racist treatment in their workplaces.

All proceeds go to community and organizing – like providing free, online
homework help to kids in underserved communities with our Homework Helpers
program.

Meanwhile, billionaires instead pocket the change. Whenever you have one
person that has amassed that much wealth, it’s usually off the backs of
underpaying working people and exploiting them and/or the planet.

So this is just your daily reminder: every billionaire is a policy failure
in a country that does not guarantee health care and has enormous amounts
of poverty.

I’m proud that Team AOC honors and respects working people.

Thanks for standing with us,

Alexandria

P.S. I was hosting a listening forum in Co-op City, The Bronx while all of
this was going on. This is part of a series of Q&A’s that my team and I
are hosting to meet people in new parts of our redistricted community,
hear about their concerns and priorities, and make a plan to advocate for
them in Congress. If you live in NY-14, I hope to see you at a future
event!
