Fighting for Election Integrity     SUPPORT CAROLINE'S EFFORTS for ELECTION INTEGRITY! Dear Friends, We are reaching out to you with important news before our November elections. Brave residents of the 5th Congressional District have filed complaints to challenge the accuracy of the voter rolls in their respective cities and towns. In these complaints, they have asked the Board of Registrars of Voters to investigate multiple cases where a registered voter has moved away and is no longer eligible to vote from their old address. Massachusetts law allows the qualifications for each of these people who have indicated they have moved to be challenged before the Town’s election officials. Massachusetts law also clearly sets forth the procedure that election officials must follow to investigate and resolve the challenge. It is our sincere hope that local election officials will do their job. A job that our state election and elected officials have failed to do. We believe clean, accurate, and up-to-date voter rolls are of paramount importance. Citizens of the Commonwealth must have confidence in the voting process. Conversely, inaccurate and out-of-date voter rolls cause skepticism and doubt about the integrity of the election process and create the opportunity for fraud. It is unacceptable that Massachusetts elected officials have determined government systems like the DMV can automatically register voters but refuse to utilize other equally proficient government systems to keep our voter rolls clean and current.
