Rule Review Notification

Thank you for signing up to be notified when the Regulatory Compliance Division of the Office of the Governor commences a review of a proposed rule. Established pursuant to Subchapter C, Chapter 57, Texas Occupations Code, the Regulatory Compliance Division conducts an independent review of certain state agencies? proposed rules that affect market competition to assess their consistency with state policy as clearly articulated by the Legislature in state statute.

The Regulatory Compliance Division has recently commenced review of and is currently accepting public comments on the following rules:

  • Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, Title 43 Texas Administrative Code ??215.133 and 215.140. Public comments will be accepted through December 2, 2022.

The proposed rules amend the pre-licensing requirements for General Distinguishing Number (GDN) dealers. The proposals affect new and renewal dealer applicants and include updates to application requirements and business premises requirements for a dealer to establish a permanent place of business.
