Hi John, I’ll be quick. Yes, we’re going to ask you for money but I want to be upfront about why it’s so important right now:

1. Greg Abbott has outspent us on TV and radio ads 2.5-to-1.We’ve still kept this a tight race thanks to all of our amazing volunteers and grassroots donors.
2. Tomorrow at 5pm ET is the banking cutoff to wire money out for funding TV ads. After that, the rest of our resources will need to be spent elsewhere.
3. We are trying to raise $450,000 TODAY to meet our TV ad budget. But, we’re currently not on track to hit that goal.

Early voting has already started, but most of the vote isn’t in. Three recent polls show us neck-and-neck with Abbott, but we can’t afford to be outspent so heavily on the airwaves. Not when so many Texas voters usually make up their minds about their vote near the end of the election.
