Hi John,

It’s Hank’s wife, Mereda.

I wanted to let you know that Hank’s taken this news about Steve Bannon trying to intimidate DeKalb voters pretty hard. As I’m sure he’s said to you, this is our home, and these are our friends and family Bannon is lying about.

But I can tell you that Hank has a plan. He intends to double down on his voter outreach efforts and make sure that everyone who goes to the polls knows their rights.

That means that his “Get Out The Vote” effort just became a “Get Out and Protect The Vote” effort. The campaign is not only focused on mobilizing voters, but also making sure they know about the voter protection resources available to them as they cast their ballots. That means more work and more resources.

But according to Hank’s grassroots fundraising spreadsheet, we still need to raise over $3,100 by tomorrow night at midnight to fully fund this effort. So, if you haven’t donated yet, I’m asking you to make a contribution now to help Hank get out and protect the vote.

Thanks so much for your part in this effort to protect our democracy.

– Mereda
