Dear John,
2020 is almost here, but we’re still falling short of our critical $200,000
year-end fundraising goal for refugees and asylum seekers – and we’re counting on you to come through with your first gift before midnight
tomorrow.

Over the past year, we’ve witnessed the erosion of America’s refugee and asylum
systems. We’ve seen a humanitarian crisis wrenching families apart along our
southern border. And we’ve seen the global refugee crisis continue to grow, with
an unprecedented number of people around the world forcibly displaced from their
homes.
No matter what the year ahead brings, HIAS remains as committed as ever to
supporting those fleeing danger and persecution with the resources they need to
build new lives in safety and freedom – but we depend on generous supporters
like you to make our work possible.
That’s why we’re counting on you to step up with your first tax-deductible gift
of $18 or more at this critical moment to help us raise
the remaining $42,137 to reach our goal. Anything you’re able to donate today
will make a profound impact on the lives of refugees and asylum seekers around
the world.

Our teams of highly trained HIAS staff members are on the ground in fifteen
countries, providing trauma counseling, legal aid, livelihood support and
protection from gender-based violence – but that’s only possible because of the
generosity of supporters like you.
There is hope in every dollar you give to HIAS. Hope for the mother who gets
legal assistance for her asylum case and a chance to live a new life free from
fear. Hope for a couple in a refugee camp who gain the tools necessary to earn a
living and feed their family. Hope for the child arriving at her new home in the
United States to find a warm welcome after a harrowing journey. So please, don’t wait another minute to rush your year-end donation ahead of
tomorrow’s urgent midnight deadline:
Click here to rush a tax-deductible year-end gift of $18
or more – every dollar you can spare makes a life-changing difference – to help
HIAS support the world’s refugees and asylum seekers as they fight to escape
violence, danger and persecution.
