Folks,

I decided to run for Congress because I was tired of hearing that someone like me – a gay woman in the South – can’t win.

At a time where our rights are under assault, no one should ever hear the message “someone like you can’t.” The way we change that is by showing people that someone like you can.

And we do that by winning. Our end-of-month deadline is on Monday and we’re falling $12,374 short – will you chip in $10 today?

The truth is, I’ve been told “you can’t” my entire life.

Skeptics said we would never win the fight for marriage equality in the South. They believed I had no chance at getting elected as a County Commissioner. They said that running for Congress in NC-11 would be a long shot.

But you cannot let skeptics stop you. You keep showing up and you keep pushing. That’s how we won the fight for marriage equality in the South and how I won two races for County Commissioner, and the Democratic nomination for NC-11, winning all 15 counties.

And with you on our side, we’re going to win again in 10 days.

Representation matters, and we’re going to deliver it. But first, we need resources to keep our ads running, our field program operating, and our momentum strong. Will you chip in $10 or more before our final end-of-month deadline?

Together, we can.
