School Lockdown Policies Stunted Children’s Learning
In sad, yet unsurprising news, a new report from the News and Observer shows that North Carolina students in the fourth and eighth grades scored worse on math and reading exams this year than before the pandemic.
School lockdowns and remote “learning” set an entire generation of children behind, and destroyed two decades worth of gains in our state’s educational attainment alone.
I will always oppose any federal efforts to promote further lockdowns or to empower those who push them.
Gender Ideology Lunacy In NC
Families in North Carolina and across the nation deserve to send their children to school without worrying about what they’re being taught. Sadly, that is often not the case. Critical Race Theory and Radical Gender Theory are now commonplace in many public schools.
Right now, radical transgender ideology is being taught in both Wake and Mecklenburg Schools. In addition, the North Carolina Museum of Art planned to use your tax dollars to host a drag queen story hour event. This event was quietly cancelled after outcry from the community, but the Left continues pushing this ideology on our children.
Even more concerning, these topics are often taught without parents’ knowledge or consent. A recent poll shows growing support in North Carolina for a parents’ Bill of Rights to guard children against these insidious ideologies.
The Biden administration is even exporting drag shows for "national security reasons" to other nations. A recent report showed that U.S. tax dollars are being sent to Ecuador for drag shows from a “wokified” State Department.
I am proud to have co-signed a letter with my colleagues opposing this insanity. My office is currently drafting legislation to tackle this problem.
I've also co-sponsored the "Stop Sexualization of Children Act of 2022", which would prohibit the use of federal funds for sexually-oriented programs or literature targeted at children.

NY Supreme Court Reinstates Unvaccinated Employees
A New York judge ruled on Monday that employees terminated from the NY Department of Sanitation for not taking the Covid vaccine must be reinstated.

Judge Ralph J. Porzio said what many of us already knew, that the vaccination mandate was “not just about safety and public health; it was about compliance.”
This decision is a step in the right direction.
Next up, the Biden Administration should reinstate the thousands of troops unjustly fired for refusing the vaccine. All employees unjustly fired for refusing the vaccine deserve to be made whole.
