[[link removed]?] But first, I hope you will give me a chance to tell you a little more about why I ran for Congress and explain why your support is so important, especially right now.

From spending years fighting for civil rights and clean energy as an attorney to representing my community in the state legislature, my roots run deep here in North Carolina.

Here in Wake County, I found a community that cares about our region, our people, and our future. Together, we’ve created one of the fastest growing areas in the country. But along with all of this new opportunity comes some serious challenges in transportation infrastructure, housing, healthcare, climate change and more.

That’s why I first ran for Congress — because I love our state, and I knew our people deserved better leadership in Washington. We deserved someone who would rise above the partisan bickering, address these issues, and actually get things done for a change. That’s exactly what our campaign fought for, and in November of 2020, we flipped this seat for the first time in a decade.

Representing our community in Congress has been the honor of my life, and it’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. Over the last year and a half, I’ve had nine bills signed into law and worked across party lines to get things done — from securing resources to modernize our infrastructure and build more electric vehicle charging stations here in Wake County, to lowering prescription drug prices. But my work isn’t finished yet.

I’ll never stop fighting to make a difference for the people of North Carolina and the community I’ve called home for more than 25 years. But we’ve got a re-election battle in just 11 days, and I can’t stay in this fight without your support.

So folks, I’m humbly asking you to pitch in ahead of our final end-of-month deadline of this campaign so we can protect this seat and continue fighting for our values in Congress.
