Well John, this is it.

We’re in the final sprint to Election Day and coming up on our last end-of-month deadline of the election. So in a minute I’m going to ask you to make a contribution to get out the vote here in DeKalb County and the 4th District. But first I want to recap what’s at stake.

Our democracy is at stake. In Georgia, our state leaders have rolled back voting access and are threatening our voting rights. And in Washington, the party of insurrection-inciting Donald Trump is attempting to take control of Congress.

Women’s rights are at stake. Georgia has implemented a six-week abortion ban – a law that would outlaw abortion before many women even know they are pregnant. In Washington, Republicans are threatening to pass a nationwide ban on abortion that would eliminate access to reproductive health care in every state.

Our economy is at stake. Democrats have been waging the fight against inflation and rising costs alone. Republicans have sat on their hands, refusing to help. They have no plan other than to cut Social Security and Medicare, while criticizing Democrats. And they somehow think this entitles them to people’s votes.

Children are at stake. Republicans want to increase gun access while America is suffering mass shooting after mass shooting. They’re more concerned with banning books and oppressing LGBTQ+ youth in schools than with making sure our children have a safe place to learn.

Our future is at stake. Democrats in Congress are working with President Biden to lower health care costs, combat climate change, slow inflation, and secure a sustainable future. If Republicans win control, they’ll stop our progress, obstruct the President’s policies, and spend all their time prepping the stage for their dear leader Donald Trump in 2024.

I’m setting a goal of raising an additional $5,500 before the end of the month to ensure we do everything possible to reach every voter. Will you make a donation now to help us reach our goal and mobilize the voters who will help us save our democracy and our future?
