[1]Cheri Beasley for North Carolina

It’s Bradley Whitford. You probably know me from The West Wing, and while I’d love to tell you our politics were as idealistic as we experienced in the Bartlet Administration, the truth is things are looking more like The Handmaid’s Tale.

I’ve experienced both of these worlds as an actor, but they’ve both taught me something about our country and democracy: You’re not at the mercy of the future. You can create it.

That’s never been more true than this November. Our country is being torn in two completely different directions, and you have a choice in what happens.

There are the politicians who want to take away our Constitutional rights and who will vote time and time again against democracy, and then there are those of us who are working to secure the same basic rights and freedoms for all of our kids and level the playing field for working families.

That couldn’t be any clearer than in North Carolina’s Senate race. It’s a statistical tie — one of the closest races in the country. But corrupt super PACs are spending massive sums to install a far-right DC insider in this seat.

In our corner, we have Cheri Beasley — a fantastic and inspiring candidate who believes each and every person deserves the opportunity to thrive. She’s the type of strong and compassionate leader that we need more of in Washington.

So here’s the choice: We can let Republicans buy another Senate seat and let Mitch McConnell be in charge of the Senate once again, or we can put our full weight behind Cheri Beasley to make sure she wins this race and expand our majority.

But it is up to you:

If you want a future where more is possible in Washington and corporate special interests are no longer allowed to thrive on greed and gridlock, then make a donation to elect Cheri Beasley to the United States Senate today.
