John,
On Monday, we tragically lost a high school teacher and a 15-year-old student to a deadly mass shooting in St. Louis, Missouri. Among the seven students who were injured is Brian, a student who marched with us in 2018 and was shot multiple times while trying to escape out of a second-story window.
Brian and his classmates just narrowly got away while the shooter was armed with an AR-15-style rifle and had over 600 rounds of ammunition.
This is the reality: March For Our Lives supporters and youth activists are being shot, injured, or worse while we wait for elected officials to act against gun violence.
It’s unacceptable that this year we’re seeing the most school shootings ever recorded, and gun violence is getting worse in nearly all parts of the country. And it’s unfathomable that Brian marched to end gun violence at 11 years old and became a victim only a few years later.
Can you make a donation to Brian and his family to support them during this difficult time and help cover the expenses associated with surviving a horrific school shooting?
Survivors need resources beyond their physical recovery. They also need long-term investment in their full emotional and mental healing from the lasting trauma they experienced.
No child should fear being shot at school. That’s why we’re fighting for a future where nobody has to live through the trauma of gun violence.
Our hearts break for Brian, and we wish for his full recovery.
In solidarity,
March For Our Lives
