Dear John,

My name is Florence Reed. When I founded Sustainable Harvest International (SHI) in 1997, I had big goals to meet the challenges of tropical deforestation and environmental degradation, while helping the world’s farmers live better at the same time. Since then, I’ve been inspired again and again by the work Central American campesinos do, with very little money or education, to stabilize the climate, bring biodiversity back to degraded lands, and feed the world.

I met the Lunch & Learn team this summer at a Maine Conservation Voters event at Islesford Dock, and after hearing about the series, I immediately said yes to sharing SHI’s story with all of you. I am so excited to join Team MCV/MCA for their online Lunch & Learn program tomorrow – Friday, October 28 – from 12-1 PM!
