This election is on a knife’s edge, and we’re all feeling the heat. Just two weeks out, and so many races remain within the margin of error. In an election this tight, with the stakes this high, every vote is critical. That’s because the outcome will determine whether saving democracy gets much tougher, or gains a powerful shot of momentum as we hurtle toward 2024.
Here's the most important action you can take in Pennsylvania this week. (And if you can’t make it, do your country a favor—recruit someone who can!)
Pennsylvania is the single state that may tip, or maintain, the balance of power–even Democracy itself. It’s up to the effort of you and me, to ensure that we bring the PA Senate race home. Attacks funded by Mitch McConnell’s PAC, to the tune of $30 million, have centered against Lt. Gov. John Fetterman for Senate, and hurt his poll numbers. His supporters have come from every county in the state—urban AND rural. Supporters need to rally. We need to make sure every single PA Vote gets turned in and counted.
Pennsylvanians are engaged in what’s called the Ballot Chase—these are text and phone banks, made to Mail-In voters, to remind anyone who hasn’t turned their ballot in, to do so immediately, correctly signed and DATED.
Poll Watchers are being trained for November 8th, in-person voting. But it doesn’t end there, volunteers are needed to stand ready to monitor the mail-in ballot count, and possible arbitration.
Lastly—share your favorite Fetterman meme, or video with friends. Our Senate race may be the most critical of them all.
We can stop extremists—hate groups who try to mobilize our youth at the grassroots level, like what we saw from the Proud Boys this week at Penn State. We can stop cowards like Mitch McConnell, who organize and manipulate people, and their money, for power. These people cannot control the levers of power. Their extremism isn’t permitted to spread. Their goal is to win this midterm, ensuring that their next plotted coup succeeds, and people like them access the highest levels of power. We can stop them, but only if we get out every last vote. That means giving it everything we’ve got over the next two weeks.
Down the stretch, one big question is whether women voters are going to single-handedly upset the MAGA apple cart in November. Women have been registering to vote at record rates since the summer, and among the states with the most significant increases in women voters…Pennsylvania!! So let’s make a point!!
Our nation remains in deep peril. Trump and his allies are more dangerous than ever and in this midterm, we are facing a slate of true extremists and silent enablers—politicians too craven and/or traitorous to defend democracy when it mattered most and who will not hesitate to betray it again if it keeps them in power.
Extremists and cowards like these should never again be near the levers of power. Their goal is to win this midterm to ensure that their next plotted coup succeeds. We must stop them—we can stop them, but only if we get out every last vote. And that means giving it everything we’ve got over the next two weeks.
