At Adhikaar, our members share the challenges they face in securing healthcare. Because of language barriers, they struggle to make doctor’s appointments, express their health needs or ask questions, and enroll in a health insurance plan.

To address these issues, Adhikaar began advocating for Nepali language interpretation needs with NYC agencies. We also started offering in-language health insurance application support at our worker center. Today our members can request Nepali language interpreters when they go visit NYC Health+ Hospital and can easily enroll in health care plans at our center.
