Public servants at every level of government have a duty to be honest with their supporters. But Donald Trump relied on misinformation to stay in power.
That misinformation led to the January 6th attack on our nation’s capitol. And now we’re facing a different kind of threat to our democracy: Election deniers and misinformation peddlers are running for state and local office here in Iowa [[link removed]] and across the country.
One such election denier is running against someone I admire and support: Josh Turek.
Josh Turek, a three-time medalist for the U.S. Paralympics, is a lifelong Iowan who is up against Sarah Abdouch, a far right lobbyist who peddles Trump’s Big Lie.
I’ve had the chance to get to know Josh Turek on and off the campaign trail. He’s in this fight because he cares deeply about the people in his community. He wants families to have access to good schools and ensure every single person in his community has access to quality health care.
