Hi everyone, it’s Megan. I’m Maura Healey’s finance director. My job is to make sure that we get enough donations to win the election. You might remember me, or you might not — I don’t send emails that often, so it’s been a while.

I know that you’re all busy people and there are lots of campaigns that send you emails, so I like to keep things direct, and only send one when I think it’s important. Here’s the deal.

There are exactly two weeks left in this campaign. We announced this campaign on January 20th. That was 273 days ago. Today, we have exactly two weeks left — 14 days.

If the past few elections have taught me anything, it’s that I block out the noise. I don’t care what pundits say, and I don't spend a lot of time on social media. I don't take any election or any vote for granted. All that I care about is the number of voters we need to convince to turn out for Maura, and raising the money that we need to get there.

Right now, we’re trying to elect the candidate who took on Purdue Pharma, Exxon Mobil, and predatory lenders.

She’s up against Geoff Diehl, who wanted to ban abortion and jail doctors and said that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump

With your help, we’ve come a long way. We’re running a campaign to win Massachusetts, and reject extremism and hate. It’s been a great 273 days — and now is when we need to make it all count. It’s go time. We have a lot of ground to cover, because people are already voting.

Early voting started this weekend. Right now, as you’re reading this email, people are filling in their ballots across Massachusetts.

I’m a straightforward person, so I’ll tell you what would be most helpful:

In the past, I know that some of you have contributed a few dollars, and checked the “recurring” box to make that donation on a monthly basis. We’re no longer asking for monthly donations, because there aren’t any more months left.

Now, what’s helpful are weekly donations, from now until the election. This isn’t some scammy money-grab, and we’ll turn it off immediately when the election is over. But the benefit of weekly donations, right now, with 2 weeks left, is that we can plan ahead and figure out exactly how much we have to spend from now through the election, and make the most of each dollar.

Keep in mind, it can be small. I don’t care if it’s $1 — it matters, because it gives us certainty about the number of donations coming in as we sprint into the final stretch. That certainty is what allows us to be smartest with your donations. And being smart with your donations is how we can win.

So my pitch is this — make a weekly donation, no matter the size, and let’s win Massachusetts. We can’t take this election for granted. But more than that, we have the opportunity to accomplish something huge, to make sure Massachusetts leads the nation, and remains a beacon of hope for everyone in America. That’s the founding promise of our Commonwealth. So let’s get it done.
