It didn’t take long before states rushed to pass bans on abortion with the explicit intention of getting a case in front of the new anti-choice majority on the Supreme Court.
Now they’ve gotten their wish: early next year, the Court will hear its first abortion case since Kavanaugh joined the bench — a case challenging a Louisiana law that is identical to a Texas law struck down by the Supreme Court in 2016.2

In just over two months, the Supreme Court will hear June Medical Services v. Gee, a case that could allow states to effectively ban abortion by shutting down clinics.
