Dear Portland Voters,

In June 2021, Fourteen Percent (14%) of Registered Portland Voters voted.
In November 2021, Thirty Four Percent (34%) of Registered Portland Voters cast a ballot.

With everything that's on this November's ballot - Five (5) Citizen Initiatives and Eight (8) Charter Commission Recommendations - don't you want the outcome to reflect as many people's will as possible?

I do.

Democracy relies on an engaged electorate.
An engaged electorate votes!

With this email I ask you to please make your November 2022 voting plan.
Here are your three options:

1) Vote early In-Person at City Hall

In-person absentee voting has begun - and is available to you M-F in the State of Maine Room, Second Floor of City Hall.
Hours M-F 8:30am to 4:30pm, and late on Wednesdays til 5:30pm.
The last day for early in-person voting is Thursday, November 3rd - from 8:30am-7:00pm.

2) Vote early by way of an absentee ballot

The ballot will get mailed to your home. You can mail back (using two stamps!) -- or drop at one of two official Ballot Drop Boxes; one is at City Hall next to the Myrtle Street entrance, one is outside the Public Works Building on Canco Road.

There are three ways to request an absentee ballot:
* You can request an absentee ballot online ([link removed])
* You can call the City Clerk's office M-F from 8:30am to 4:30pm at 207-874-8677
* You can complete a November 8, 2022 absentee ballot application ([link removed]) and submit it by
+ Mailing it to: City Clerk's Office 389 Congress Street, Portland ME 04101
+ Fax it to: 207-874-8612
+ Email it to: [email protected]

3) Wail until November 8th and cast your ballot at your polling location.
* Use the link below to plug in your address - so that you're sure to go to the right polling location:
+ [link removed] (Remember, Portland had to do some redistricting this past year - so, like me, your polling location may have changed!)
* The link below will take you to learn more about all precinct maps, and all polling locations. [link removed]

We all care about outcomes. Let's care too about the number of voters contributing to outcomes!

Thanks for making your plan to vote,
Kate
