Dear John,
After the latest wave of attacks against Jews over Hanukkah, including the ghastly assaults at a rabbi’s home in New York on Saturday night, have you had enough?
If you’ve had enough of yellow police tape in front of Jewish institutions... enough of wondering where the next act of antisemitic violence will take place... enough of worrying that the target may be someone you love;
If you’ve had enough of armed guards shielding synagogue doors... enough of looking for exit paths at Jewish events... enough of thinking twice before wearing a Star of David or kippah;
If you’ve had enough of “thoughts and prayers” from leaders who could be doing more and enough of silence from those who couldn’t seem to care less;
If you’ve had enough of standing by while antisemitism resurfaces in our communities, it’s time to join AJC in this fight. |
At AJC, we don’t believe in being bystanders; we believe in action and driving real results.
Your year-end gift to AJC—a gift that will be doubled if we receive it before midnight tomorrow—means more progress in an uphill battle we must win.
- Here in America, AJC is mobilizing elected officials to confront anti-Jewish hatred. We’ve been fighting alongside our interfaith partners for new hate crimes legislation; recruiting scores of lawmakers to join the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, a congressional committee inspired by AJC; and calling our leaders to action based on our pivotal survey on antisemitism.
- Across Europe, we are making important strides to tackle antisemitism, like advising governments to appoint monitors to address hatred against Jews and convincing more countries to adopt policies that help track and prosecute antisemitic crimes.
- In the corridors of power across the globe, we are helping forge stronger ties for Israel. And we are countering the campaign to delegitimize and isolate the Jewish state, a campaign that is fundamentally rooted in antisemitism.
Your support furthers AJC’s impact. And if you give before December 31, that impact will be doubled.
We are in the battle of our lives to determine who prevails. We should not underestimate the strength of those who wish to do the Jewish people harm—but we also must not underestimate our collective strength. What happens next is up to us. If we don’t act now, who will? |
Urgently,
David Harris
