Congresswoman Lesko Weekly Update

Good Afternoon,

I hope everyone had a wonderful week in our great State of Arizona! This week, I spoke with constituents in Sun City, AZ to discuss how I am working to combat President Biden’s cost-of-living crisis and how I am standing up for Arizonans against congressional Democrats’ disastrous, far-left agenda!

I met with constituents in Peoria, AZ at the Desert Winds Retirement Community. It is an honor to be your voice in Congress!

It was wonderful to join WeSERV to speak about what I am doing in Congress to support Arizonans and protect our water supply, as well as my work on the Energy and Commerce Committee to create reliable, affordable, and sustainable energy solutions.

Lesko Introduces Constitutional Amendment to Protect Parental Rights

I introduced an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to guarantee the fundamental right of parents to make the best educational decisions for their children. Parents have a fundamental right to be involved in their children's education and to be able to choose the best educational options for their families. I was pleased to introduce this constitutional amendment to protect parents from far-left school board officials and government bureaucrats in the Biden Administration who have actively worked to undermine parental rights and eliminate educational choices for their families.

In the News

I want to make sure that you don’t miss a minute of what I’m doing to fight for Arizonans each and every day. Check out my latest interview below.

The Seth Leibsohn Show

I joined the Seth Leibsohn Show to discuss how Democrat policies have created crisis after crisis and why I introduced a constitutional amendment to protect parental rights and stop the far left’s dangerous push to sexualize children. Listen below:

GET THE FACTS: President Biden Continues to Drain Our Emergency Oil Reserves

This week, President Biden announced the release of 15 million more barrels of oil from our nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserves. The reserve is meant for weather events or national security emergencies, but it is now at its lowest point since 1984. This 15 million barrel release will complete the 180 million barrels President Biden authorized the Energy Department to release in March. This is just another desperate political attempt to drive down fuel prices that have dramatically risen because of President Biden and congressional Democrats' war on American energy. Meanwhile, Americans across the nation have been struggling with an energy crisis. The average price of gas in Arizona continues to stay well above four dollars per gallon. President Biden could lower gas prices and restore our energy security today by unleashing our domestic energy production. Biden could reopen oil and gas leasing on federal lands, approve the 4,400 pending applications for permits to drill, and stop the regulatory assault on U.S. energy development.

Casework Highlight

A married couple, both Social Security Administration (SSA) beneficiaries, contacted our office for assistance with their benefits. The SSA had provided them unclear information, and they were worried their benefits would be stopped. Our office contacted the SSA, and received clear guidance for the SSA. We also connected the couple with staff members at the local field office for any future issues to ensure their benefits remained in place.

Encouraging Story

I want to share this story about how the Arizona State Society Daughters of the American Revolution raised funds to send Arizona veterans on Honor Flights. Honor Flight works to provide America’s veterans with an all-expenses paid trip to the memorials in Washington, D.C. During the return flight, veterans received cards thanking them for their service. We are so grateful for their work to honor our brave veterans who have selflessly served our nation.
