John —

A recent report shows the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) revoked more gun store licenses in 2022 than any year in the past decade.

The ATF is one of the few government agencies keeping the gun industry in check by cracking down on illegal activity by gun dealers and manufacturers.

Back in July, President Biden appointed Steven Dettelbach to lead the agency — the first Director to hold the position in seven years. It marked a BIG step toward holding the industry accountable for flooding the streets with weapons of war and is one of the actions we called for in our policy plan, It Ends With Us.

Now, we’re seeing the results of having a pro-gun safety ally in leadership who is committed to public safety and enforcing our federal firearm laws.

The gun industry is NOT above the law. This is what it looks like when law enforcement focuses their resources on stopping the bad corporate actors who enable this deadly epidemic. We are going to continue to hold the line on passing stronger gun safety laws in Congress.

Thanks for being part of our grassroots coalition.
