You really don’t want to miss this,
John.

We’re hosting a Global Week of Action to #StopEACOP from October 24 to
October 30.

Why now? In just a couple of weeks the annual UN climate summit (COP27)
will start in Egypt. World leaders and media will turn their attention to
the climate crisis, after a year of devastating floods, droughts, and heat
waves.

This is our chance to throw a global spotlight on EACOP. We’ll call on
banks and insurers to pull their support, and uplift the tireless local
resistance in Uganda and Tanzania.

When you sign up, you’ll join thousands of others on a round-the-world
tour of anti-EACOP resistance. We’ll send you one action to take per day
via email for seven days (starting on Monday). [ [link removed] ]Are you in?

We’re throwing the weight of our global climate movement behind the fight
to stop EACOP for a good reason. Total’s newest pipeline is a symbol of
everything that is wrong with our broken energy system:^1

* An international oil giant grabbing land and endangering local
people’s lives and livelihoods, with no consequences? Check.
* A direct threat to water, farming, and some of the world’s most
spectacular nature in the heart of Africa? Check.
* A massive oil pipeline that will pump tons of CO2 pollution into our
air, and block the transition to safe, renewable energy for all?
Check.

The growing EACOP resistance is increasing in power. We’re calling for a
clean, fair, safe and 100% community-led renewable energy future for all.

Join us: [ [link removed] ]pledge to take one online action a day, between October 24 and
October 30. Help us build this historic resistance.

All over the world — in the U.S., Latin America, Canada, Europe, and Asia
— our movement stands in solidarity with those on the frontlines of the
climate crisis. We’ve stopped destructive pipelines before, and together,
we can do it again.

In solidarity,

Omar Elmawi
