Friend, 

With the amount of crazed ultra-MAGA Republicans running in tight elections across the country, it’s easy to forget about the political fortunes of Kevin McCarthy. Remember him? I sure do. Indulge me for a moment as I lay out McCarthy's current situation and oh so bleak future. 

McCarthy’s political livelihood is completely dependent on three depraved and dangerous rules. If they seem completely contradictory to you, then… you’re absolutely right! 

They are. 

McCarthy’s leadership is built on these rules. They amount to a house of cards. And when they collapse upon each other (and mark my words, they will) the fall will be spectacular. 

Rule 1: Live a Double Life

Pretend to donors you’re from GOP 1.0, tell them behind closed doors you’re the only option besides the MAGA horde. Promise them their tax cuts, and give them their carried interest deductions! Make sure they know they won’t be getting any of that from Speaker Marjorie Taylor Greene. 

Rule 2: Pretend you’re being forced to compromise with evil

Remember when the GOP used to claim they stood for something? Rule of law? For thee not me. The Constitution? Oh, I’ll just take the fun parts, please! Fiscal probity? Daddy Trump says the checkbook is wide open!

And what’s our excuse for all the blatant contradictions? With all this imaginary CRT Black Lives Matter communism, it’s our only option. 

Rule 3: Tell stories from your catalog of imaginary demons

Boy oh boy, it seems like there are new ones to choose from each day. Cat litter in classrooms, stolen elections, and of course you can’t forget about mandatory sharia gay marriage drag queens. Listen, there’s a decades-long effort by a leftist cabal of secret socialisms in America funded by billionaires (that’s of course MAGA for Jews), and we NEED to defeat them. 

McCarthy’s rule book is as depraved as it gets. He’s living a double life, based on imaginary political opponents and lies he tells himself every day. And if it all seems complicated, just wait until Trump gets himself fully back in the scene when he runs in 2024. Then, McCarthy’s really in for it. 

Now, we can have a good laugh at McCarthy’s impending political doom. But he’s still a few seats away from holding the House gavel and his puppeteer is gearing up to take back the White House. 

The House of Cards is fragile, and The Lincoln Project intends on blowing them to the ground. Support our cause today and let’s make November 8th, the day McCarthy’s political future dies.
