Hi JOHN,

When I met Barack Obama it was a light-bulb moment for me. As we come up on the last few weeks before Election Day, I'm reminded of how this campaign first started.

Picture this: It was 2007, and a then little-known Senator named Barack Obama announced his candidacy for President of the United States. I was one of the first 40 people to join Obama's historic campaign, serving as one of the national security advisors.

I was inspired to join the campaign. I think most of all it was the hopeful energy that surrounded his message and his intelligence. He had a clear vision for our future, and a sharp, thoughtful, patriotic group of people who were supporting him along the way.

I jumped in with both feet, and I worked around the clock to do all that I could to help him win in 2008. Now, as the candidate myself, I think back on those early days, and I'm proud to say that we've continued that hopeful, engaging, and empathetic way of running for office on Team Lynn.

My campaign is full of people with experience in the community, expertise on the issues that matter most to our voters, and countless volunteers who connect with people across the district.

In 2008, one slogan was "Change we can believe in." I know this election season has felt a little different. There's been ugly rhetoric being flung from the far right corners of our political spectrum. We see the divisiveness that many of our most important issues can cause.

But another slogan was “Yes We Can,” and together, we can all believe in a future where we have affordable health care, a protected environment, access to quality education, and jobs that provide for our families.

I'm proud to have learned so much from President Obama, and now, I'm proud to continue my journey to represent my hometown, FL-13, in Congress.

Thank you for your support, JOHN.
