Dear John,
We’re still fighting as hard as we can to reach our year-end goal, and we are so grateful for every single gift we’ve received up until now. HIAS has big plans for 2020: expanding our global work, resettling refugees across the United States and continuing to help asylum seekers – no matter what barriers they face.
All that critical, life-changing work takes significant resources – resources we cannot raise without your help right now. Our Dec. 31 deadline is nearly here, and millions of people are counting on your help, so please: Will you step up with your first gift of $18 or more to help refugees and asylum seekers find safety and freedom?
With more people displaced than at any other time in history, and the Trump administration restricting refugee admissions to unprecedented lows, refugees need HIAS’ help more than ever. HIAS has spent this past year working to meet that need. We’ve opened five new offices in Latin America and Europe, taken on the Trump administration’s exclusionary policies in court, advocated for refugees on Capitol Hill and fought tirelessly for asylum seekers at the southern U.S. border.
Now we’re relying on you to help us support the millions of men, women and children who rely on us. We must reach our $200,000 goal to continue providing this critical assistance in 2020. But time is running out, John. Please, don’t let your last chance to make a difference for refugees in 2019 slip by.
Thank you for standing with us,
