As Texas faces more frequent extreme weather events, it's clear that our electric grid has not been updated to withstand extreme temperatures and severe weather conditions. Texas is the energy capital of the world, but because Texas Republicans have failed to act, we are left holding our breath anytime we see very high or low temperatures.
This is unacceptable and is the result of Texas politicians not taking the necessary steps to keep Texans safe and the lights on.
Colin and his colleagues in Congress have worked to address the lack of resilience in our infrastructure as well as the climate crisis that is causing increasingly frequent extreme weather events. Colin helped pass both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which provided billions of dollars for Texas infrastructure, and the Inflation Reduction Act, which makes the largest investment in tackling the climate crisis in our nation’s history.
Colin will always do what’s best for Texans, even if our state leaders fail to do so. That’s what he will continue to fight for if he gets re-elected in November.
