John, it's Trudy's husband, John. As Halloween approaches, kids are carving pumpkins, putting up spooky decorations, and, of course, picking out costumes.

In the holiday spirit, I wanted to share this photo of Trudy wearing one of her favorite costumes from her childhood – a nurse’s uniform. This picture truly holds a special place in my heart because, in short, it shows my wife being her truest self.

As a dad, I can tell you that no kid chooses a costume lightly. Whether it's a Halloween costume or just another game of playing pretend, picking out a costume is an incredibly important, deliberate decision. They are telling their parents and their friends what they care about and who they want to be. While a lot of kids choose the latest superhero or Disney character (both excellent choices, make no mistake), even at a tender age, Trudy had a very specific vision for who she wanted to be: a nurse.

At her core, Trudy has always been someone with a desire to heal and care for others. What started as a costume and games of play pretend became volunteering as a candy striper, then attending nursing school, serving her community as a nurse, becoming a children’s advocate, and finally caring for families as a hospice volunteer. Every day I have known her, I have seen her continue to lead with a nurse's caring heart – to extend compassion and kindness to everyone she meets, to listen carefully, especially to those whose voices are rarely heard, and to work diligently toward people-centered solutions.

As Missouri's next senator, that is exactly the type of leader that she will be in Washington. But just like a nurse, she can't do this alone – and she would never claim to! To overcome the attacks against her campaign and win this election, Trudy needs this team to stand with her.

Please, with this election just a couple of weeks away, can I count on you to chip in $5 to power Trudy's campaign? Together, we can send a nurse's mind and heart to the Senate, heal the divides facing our country, and win a bright future for our kids.

Thank you so much for all that you do to support Trudy's campaign.

Gratefully,

John Fries (Trudy's Husband)
