DALLAS, TX – I was glad to have legislation I worked on with Rep. Anthony Delgado and Senator John Cornyn signed into law by President Biden on Monday. The bipartisan One-Stop Shop Compliance Act allows small businesses to thrive amidst the seemingly never-ending web of bureaucratic red tape. Now more than ever, we must pursue commonsense legislation that supports small businesses in our recovering economy. Passing this bill was a win for small businesses and I was pleased to work with my Congressional colleagues to bring this commonsense legislation to light. You can read more on how this bill will help small businesses in Texas-24 and across the country here. I joined Reps. Carol Miller (VA-03) and Ron Estes (KS-04) in writing a Fox News op-ed on America's position in Southeast Asia, which is quickly falling behind Communist China's increased role in the region. We saw this firsthand on our recent Congressional delegation trip to Cambodia and Singapore where we met with government and business leaders. You can read more on this critical issue and our plan to address it by clicking here. I enjoyed visiting with Medical City – Las Colinas on Tuesday to discuss solutions to the ongoing healthcare workforce shortage and their legislative priorities. I was also glad to receive their Champion of Care Award! I had a productive tour of Womack Machine Supply, a manufacturing supply company headquartered in North Texas and member of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors. I also met with FleetPride, an Irving-based trucking parts company, to discuss the right to repair, trade issues, and labor shortages affecting the trucking industry. On Wednesday, I visited some of Keller ISD's schools to speak with K-12 students and get to know some of the future leaders of Texas-24. I am always amazed by our students and am excited to see how their bright futures will impact our community. I stopped by Wingate by Wyndham hotel in Irving yesterday to learn about everything they do to prepare for their guests and provide the best customer experience. I am proud to represent such a wonderful hospitality industry here in North Texas. I was also thrilled to work with Racetrac yesterday and make a pizza, run the register, and meet all of their fantastic employees. Hometown Hero of the Week Our Texas-24 Hometown Hero of the Week is one of DFW’s finest – the late Officer Jacob Arellano. Officer Arellano tragically lost his life this week on his way to serve our community. Please join me in praying for his family, friends, and all of his brothers and sisters at the Dallas Police Department. Rep.
