Team —

Tomorrow the Washington State Debate Coalition is hosting a 26th Legislative District debate at 3 p.m. at the Norm Dicks Government Center in Bremerton! Join us in-person if you can, but you can also watch the debate live on King5.com [[link removed]] and KING 5+.

This’ll be one of the last chances for neighbors to hear from us before receiving ballots next week. Having King 5 streaming the debate is a great opportunity for us to reach a broader audience — and to highlight the stark differences between me and my opponent. For me, it makes such a difference to have friendly faces like yours in the audience — and to know that folks like you are at home watching and engaging in the democratic process. I hope you'll join (or tune in) if you can!

At the debate, I’ll make it clear that I will always advocate for the needs of our communities, stand up to attacks on democracy and women’s reproductive freedom, and make sure that everybody in our district and our state has the tools we need to thrive. I know these values resonate with my neighbors in the 26th district, but I also know that winning is not that simple.

Here’s what I’m up against: I just found out that my race is one of just three seats that the Senate Republicans are targeting with outside PAC money , putting up negative ads against me that are largely funded by out-of-state, national right-wing PACs. They know they can’t win this with their policies, so they resort to ugly tactics to try and chip away at our majorities and shift the balance of power.

We can’t let extremism win. Can I count on you for a donation of $5, $26, or even $100 to show your support today and help us beat back this outside spending? If you can do it today, you will help ensure we have the resources to win while sending an unmistakable message about the strength of our campaign before Saturday’s debate. [[link removed]]

Please stay engaged with the campaign during these final few weeks. Don’t underestimate the impact that a single person can have — whether you can knock on doors, make phone calls, put up yard signs, or donate money, your continued support in this race makes all the difference.

I’ll check in with you after the debate on Saturday. As always, thanks for being on my team.
